Matthew Fernandez

My name is Matthew Fernandez and I am a freshman majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences and minoring in Spanish and Biochemistry. My goal is to promote outreach to Hispanic communities in diversifying the STEM field through this internship. After I graduate, I will pursue medical school where I will go through the process of becoming a physician and using my background in Spanish, I hope to give healthcare to those who can't afford it in Mexico and become an advocate for my community. This semester I will be teaching 6th graders in Ms. Meraz's class in Spanish and facilitate environmental science lessons.
