Help The Bio/Diversity Project foster more diverse and inclusive environmental fields and organizations!
The Bio/Diversity Project fosters the development of the next generation of environmental science educators, scientists, and leaders committed to diversity and inclusion.
During the 2020-2021 academic year, The Bio/Diversity Project pivoted all of our programming to be conducted 100% online.
The pivot to online teaching has brought many challenges, but it also brought a myriad of opportunities for us and our cohort of interns. Our interns led the way in creating lessons through a variety of digital platforms that brought engagement to the online classroom in ways previously unexplored. They gained competency in various on-line platforms, improved their science communication skills, and found unique ways to engage students and inspire them to explore their natural environment. They even utilized the ArcGIS and the StoryMaps platform to create collaborative digital stories of the natural world with their students. Check out the Spring 2021 Action Projects by Clicking Here!
Give today to help us return to the classroom and continue doing this important work!
While our experiment in 100% remote engagement went well, we are thrilled to be returning to in-person and hands-on learning in the fall! Any funds procured through this crowdfunding campaign will tremendously help us return to the classroom and continue doing this important work.
The Bio/Diversity Project is a collaboration between UArizona's Women in Science and Engineering Program and The Friends of Saguaro National Park, with additional support provided by the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and faculty and staff from over 18 different UArizona Departments.
