Hello! I'm Maritza Yamile Roberts, a high school senior at BASIS Tucson North, and my passion lies at the intersection of environmental science and STEM equity. Through my involvement in the Bio/Diversity project, I concentrate on translating culturally responsive environmental science lesson plans from English to Spanish for English-Second-Language students. Over the last three years, I've actively engaged in ecological genomics, water conservation, and mining sustainability labs at the University of Arizona. As a student leader, I bring these technical skills and knowledge to Southern Arizona learning communities, promoting inclusivity in STEM education.
