Kelly McHugh

My name is Kelly McHugh and I’m a senior Environmental Science major with a focus in Biology and a minor in Biochemistry. Originally, I am from Scranton, Pennsylvania, but have enjoyed exploring the diverse environment of Tucson, Arizona. I became active in Students for Sustainability at the University of Arizona where my passion for the environment grew and led me to the intern position with the Bio/Diversity Project.

One aspect of nature I find to be the most important is understanding its complexity and helping others to explore it as well. This opportunity with the Bio/Diversity Project allows me to further engage with students of various age groups and experts within the subject to expand my education while also helping others at the same time. I am teaching 9th graders at Tucson High Magnet School this semester and I look forward to the obstacles and embracing the challenges that are to come.
