Emily Burke
My name is Emily Burke. I am a senior at the University of Arizona, studying Molecular and Cellular Biology and minoring in Biochemistry. My future plans include earning a PhD in Genetics, becoming a professor in my field and heading academic research as a principal investigator. My participation in the Bio/Diversity project internship provides an avenue to improve my scientific communication skills with younger students and other professionals, and offers learning opportunities to become a better mentor, teacher, and scientist. Communicating the importance of ecological biodiversity while promoting diverse inclusion in the STEM fields is critical to improving our collective future, especially in the context of younger generations.
