Panel Series
Cultural and Gender Bias Implications Panel:
To kick off our panel series we will discuss: Cultural and gender assumptions for women and BIPOC communities as well as the cost of those assumptions for those pursuing environmental leadership positions. The panelists will touch on the actions that those pursuing environmental leadership positions can take as they continue in their college journey.
Mental and Physical Health Panel:
The Mental and Physical Health panel will focus on the stigma of seeking and sustaining professional support for physical and mental health. The panelists will discuss the importance of self care, whether mental and physical, in the life of students, and how to reach out despite the stigma of asking for help.
The Funding Panel:
The Funding Problem panel will focus on complications undergraduate students face during their college experience and beyond graduating. During this panel, students will be provided resources and strategies to have financial stability. Our panelists will talk about their experiences and sources they seek during their undergraduate journey.
Food and Water Insecurity Panel:
The Food and Water Insecurity panel focuses on the reality of food insecurity in underrepresented communities, support, and affiliation for marginalized students in environmental conservation fields. We are hoping to connect students directly to resources in the Tucson community, knowing that diversity in leadership can only lead to better problem-solving for critical world problems. The students will have an opportunity to listen to the panelists' experiences, knowledge, and resources, with the intention to cultivate and encourage the growth of future leaders in STEM. This will be our 4th and final panel of the series.
